Our quest to spread the good news of our Lord Yahshua, the Messiah, will definitely take us far and wide.
Our quest to spread the good news of our Lord Yahshua, the Messiah, will definitely take us far and wide.
As we alighted from the taxi at Mwanza, we were met by a brother named Jacob. In a short moment, sweet songs greeted our ears and lively dance caught our sight. We were received with such pomp, something that we greatly marvelled at. Women, children and older men took all our bags and helped carry them. At the house of one of the brothers, we didn't have time to rest; it was already late. These people had waited since morning. We were, therefore, requested to deliver our message and for about two and a half hours, we preached about the Jewish Messiah and salvation. As darkness gradually covered the sky, we were requested to come back the following morning at 8.30am.We went to rest in a nearby hotel.
We went back the following morning as agreed and met believers at a local hall. This time we taught about the sabbath, true baptism and our relationship with the house of Israel.
As we closed at about 1.30 pm, seven believers could not wait. They declared their insatiable desire to be baptised immediately. "I have sought truth for a very long time and my time has finally come," confessed one of the sisters named Petro. She was the first to testify.
Having received this affirmation, we decided to officially open the branch. Many more declared that they would be members but only seven would be baptised that day. We were blessed to have a middle aged man who could communicate very well. We committed him to Hashem to lead this new group. His wife was also among the seven. He will be working closely with and reporting to Pastor Lyson. (May Elohim bless Pastor Lyson for organizing this programme). We had refreshments and afterwards had songs and dance all the way to the river where all the seven were born again. We gave them guidelines as a Church of God branch and committed them to Elohim. As the evening drew near, we were ready to leave and just as they had received us, they escorted us carrying our bags to the highway to catch a taxi. This was so much love!It reminded me the story of Paul in the book of Acts chapter 20 when he was escorted by a group of believers.
We are still at Malawi as i write but we can't stay long. We will leave them under the able care of Pastor Lyson but we do know that Hashem will make a way for us to come back. We shall monitor and pray for their progress. We were tired but this was the Lords doing. Praise Hashem Adonai of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
One thing I can't fail to report is that this part of Malawi has been hit by drought. These people need help in form of food and clothing. We hope well wishers could help our International Evangelical Mission in Malawi and Africa in general. Kindly write to us via info@cogmers.or.ke
Pray for Malawi. Pray for new believers. Pray for this enormous work that has started here this year. Also pray for us.
