Once again women have displayed an amazing initiative geared towards building and strengthening the church

Once again women have displayed an amazing initiative geared towards building and strengthening the church. They have from time to time put their best feet forward in accomplishing various projects that have helped to crown the Church of God 7th Day with glory. On 5th April 2015, a section of women group in the Church of God 7th Day made a visit to one of the Women's prison in Kenya. This was the second time that the Church visited inmates after making a similar visit last year. The women were about forty in number and were accompanied by the General Overseer Pastor H.K Karanja and Pastor Kim.

The delegation had a great time with the inmates for the one and a half hours they spent with them. They conducted a service where they praised and worshipped together. Everyone including the security guards could not hide their joy as they joined in the dance during praise sessions. The message from the main speaker of the day, Mrs. Eudias Kuria dwelt on edifying and encouraging the women to continue seeking the Lord because the door is opened to the one who knocks. She gave a very captivating sermon that helped to remind the inmates that God still loves and cares for them, and that they should not relent in their efforts to live responsibly and to serve the Lord even though they are behind bars.

Thereafter, they presented their gifts to the inmates, which included 4 sewing machines, rolls of tissue papers, washing bar soap and other personal effects. The church administration led by the General Overseer and Pastor Kim highly commended these efforts by women in the church. It was an amazing initiative that not only needs to be emulated by other church groups, but also taken to a higher level. The General Overseer was very happy to see how impactful the women ministry has been to the church, and called upon them to keep up their efforts in building and strengthening the body of Messiah. There are currently a number of inmates who have accepted the gospel of truth from Jerusalem. By referring to the scripture about caring for the needy, Pastor Kuria Karanja called upon every messianic believer to support such initiatives and even reach out to more inmates in other prisons in the country. He quoted Mathew 25:31-36 to emphasize the importance of supporting those behind bars. "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, the He will sit on the throne of His glory...He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats...Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'come, you blessed of My Father'...for I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me."
