Messiah’s commission to his disciples and to those who would believe was to go out to the whole world and “make disciples of all the nations, baptising in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Mathew 28:19). To honour this great call, the Church of God has relentlessly been preaching the good and true gospel of Salvation from Jerusalem not only in Kenya but to Africa and beyond. Through the Media arm of the Church it has been possible to reach global audience and continue to receive encouraging reports of people all over the world starved of the true scriptures handed down from our apostles and prophets and Yahshua as chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20)

The missionary work in Malawi started in 2013. Pastor Kimani Thumbi, then residing in South Africa made contacts with Brothers in Malawi who agreed to be used to take the Gospel to Malawi. This was followed by divine visions of taking the Gospel to Malawi where the Church of God Seventh day in Kenya was tasked to bring forth and Care for the new Church in Malawi. Since then and through the power from Elohim, the Church has mobilised resources to go and take the good news to Malawi.

These resources include:

i. People such as Pastors and Evangelists

ii. Funds to support the Ministry

iii. Humanitarian aid in terms of food and clothing.

Periodically, the Church of God 7th day in Kenya has been sending Pastors, Elders and Evangelists to Malawi. Through these efforts, Churches have been set up in major towns such as Mwanza in the South, Mzuzu and Mziba in Central Malawi and Karonga in the North. May Elohim continue to bless the Missionaries led by General Overseer Karanja who continue to work tirelessly to feed and grow the infant Church.

Pastor Kamau Gaturu and Elder Kennedy Changandu travelled to Malawi on 19th March 2018 to teach the young converts and celebrate with them during the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. During their hard work and dedication, more than 10 members were baptised and added to the flock. The Church of God welcomed back these selfless servants of God on April 11th 2018. Talking to them upon return, they happily reported on their willingness to go back to Malawi again and again if called upon, for it is plain to them that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few (Luke 10.2).

To continue supporting the ministry and lay a stronger foundation, The General Overseer Hezekiah Karanja was accompanied by his wife together with the very dedicated, and never tiring Elder Gitari. They left for Malawi on Sunday 15th April 2018 for a two week mission to help strengthen the souls of the brethren and to lay sustainable structures for the Church. They will transverse the Country of Malawi visiting churches in Southern Malawi (Mwanza) to the North (Karonga) while transiting through Mzuzu and Mziba in Central Malawi. The General Overseer is expected to ordain local church leaders, deacons and elders who will look after the Church in Malawi. By the time of writing this article the team was excited to have concluded purchase of piece of land in Mzuzu where a synagogue is expected to be put up. We highly appreciate support from our donors who are always willing to support this mission. You are indeed storing your treasures in heaven where there is neither moth nor rust to corrupt it. Be blessed and encouraged by the Holy Scriptures recorded in the Book of Romans 10: 13-15

The team is also planning to purchase a plot for church construction in Karonga, (Northern Malawi) before they come back to Kenya. You can become part of this noble work of God by donating whichever amount you have through our online donation portal via THIS DONATION PLATFORM

Blessings to the General Overseer, Pastors, Elders, Deacons the entire leadership and indeed the whole Congregation of the Church of God 7th day who have made Malawi mission part of their heavenly calling.
