Church of God Youth Organization of Kenya (COGYOK)
COGYOK stands for Church of God Youth Organization of Kenya. It is an organization comprising unmarried young men and women within the Church of God 7th Day.
Our Purpose
COGYOK plays a vital role in:
- Unifying all youth within the Church of God 7th Day.
- Promoting the spread of the Word of God.
- Empowering members in all aspects of their lives—spiritually, socially, and economically.
Vision
To become the largest and most effective global youth body, committed to teaching and converting young people to the Messianic faith, ultimately guiding them toward eternal life in Yahshua, our soon-coming King.
Mission
Winning souls for Yahshua through national and local evangelical outreaches and other activities aimed at ensuring that the true gospel of Yahshua reaches every soul.
Our Journey
COGYOK was established in 1986 when the Messianic Faith was not widely spread. However, through dedicated evangelical outreach efforts, the organization has grown exponentially and is now firmly established across Kenya and beyond its borders.
Leadership & Structure
COGYOK operates under a structured and unified governance system led by:
- Patron: Bishop H.K. Karanja
- Youth Minister: Pastor Mugoya
- Assistant Minister: Pastor Gitari
- Youth President: Munyaka Gitau
- National Youth Coordinator: Pastor Kariuki (KISH)
Leadership is organized at three levels:
National Office
District Office
Village Office
Each leadership level has an 8-member committee, and office bearers are elected every two years. COGYOK also works closely with Regional Pastors to provide spiritual guidance at the grassroots level.
Annual Gatherings & Programs
COGYOK organizes several impactful events, including:
- Annual General Meetings (AGMs) & Youth Camps – A week-long event bringing together youths from Kenya and beyond for training, mentorship, and talent development.
- Leadership Seminars – Equipping young leaders with skills and wisdom to lead effectively.
- Gospel Outreaches – Spreading the gospel of truth and the Third Angel’s Message.
- Prayer Retreats – Dedicated gatherings for prayer, fasting, and spiritual nourishment.
- Community Service & Charity Work – Actively engaging in communal projects, visiting the less fortunate, and strengthening fellowship with other churches.
Looking Ahead
COGYOK is a vibrant and dynamic movement committed to growing into an internationally recognized youth organization. We aim to expand our reach beyond Kenya’s borders, fostering collaboration with other Messianic youth organizations globally. Through combined events, activities, and projects, we seek to fulfill the great commission, spreading the gospel to all nations in the 21st century.
