By now, Ruiru should have become common in your eyes and ears if you keep abreast with news feed in our website. This conclusion follows the fact that we have currently been mentioning it for various reasons, all of which, glad to say, are good. But, may be, for those who may find the word new, Ruiru is one of the branches of Church of God 7th Day (COGMERS) about 25 Kms from Nairobi’s CBD. Last Sabbath was a grand one for Ruiru as they hosted the entire Nairobi region for an interfellowship
I prefer not overlooking any details, no matter how trivial, so as not to leave any of my readers hanging. Interfellowship is a convergence of various church branches within a county to fellowship together after a period of about two months. The aim is to hearten unity, do some sort of note comparison in addition to encouraging each other. The venue is normally chosen by the church elders and it is done in turns to ensure that all villages host the event fairly.
To Ruiru, the event was memorable because it was the first time they were hosting this event since they moved to their current church (we had posted earlier on that they were moving). They were, therefore, so eager to showcase their brethren to their neighborhood as well hold an open air outreach in the area. This, they achieved perfectly because brethren from the neighboring branches attended in huge numbers almost surpassing the hosts' expectations. From just looks, neighbors were dumbfounded by the congregation. In the evening, the entire church staged an outreach which, hopefully, will bear fruits.
