Do you remember Team Ruiru Movement alias TRM? I guess you don’t.

Despite how much conspicuous flowers might look, they are useless if the plant does not yield prolifically. In fact, a farmer loathes a plant that is abnormally flowery but less prolific. It is for this reason that I find it paramount updating you on the fruits of a previously flowery “plant”.

Do you remember Team Ruiru Movement alias TRM? I guess you don’t. Do you remember a time I posted about an audio launch of the ‘Yu Hai’ album last year? It should ring a bell! Well, you remember I explained that the team had a mule’s enthusiasm to produce a VCD of the same? Now the dream has finally come true. It must seem long since then, measuring by people’s yardstick, but I would say it was prompt bearing in mind the fatigue that goes with organizing a huge group and raising enough money for such a project. Above all is the fever that comes with sacrificing personal time for the sake of video shooting.

Last Sabbath was a splendid day that was labeled ‘Music Shabbat’ when there was the official dedication of the just-released Yu Hai VCD. Ruiru Church experienced an influx of a myriad of visitors ranging from brethren from other church branches to noncogmers, all eager to experience the first showcase of the VCD. In attendance also was music producer and media personality Jason Karua among other artists. The ceremony was graced by the church elder, Eld. Kibe Mwangi who prayed for the VCD that was handed to him by the team chairperson, Gachanja Mburu. He later prayed for blessings for the entire team for its selflessness and determination in completing the project. He further urged the team to unveil another project that will kite the church’s flag even higher.

Team Ruiru’s counterparts, the Nairobi Youths, showed indescribable support by attending the event and acclaiming the success. This showed how well the two groups get along as well as the fortified solidarity they have in readiness to combat the evil one. Another group that availed itself for the same is KUMESA (Kenyatta University Messianic Association). KUMESA, through its chairperson-Godfrey Njuguna, applauded the team and thanked it for giving them a challenge to step out of their comfort zone and intensify their preaching within the university. He told of how KUMESA had gone out of its way to buy a simple PA which was, indeed, dedicated to the Lord yesterday.

The youth president, George Mburu who is also a member of Team Ruiru, expressed his gratitude towards the team for such an immense achievement and making him proud. He testified how hard the team had trained for the shooting. “Having been the captain for the team for quite a long time,” he said “I can tell it called for self sacrifice and abundant prayers to get here. That is now past; let us focus for even a bigger project because the sky is the limit.” He further called upon all the youths to unite and shun all forms of discord so as to tread solidly towards success. “I request our beloved friends to borrow a leaf from Team Ruiru and call us for their VCD dedication/launching. Take the challenge and enthrall us with a soon invitation!” He wound up.
