On 31st January 2016, the General Overseer announced the elevation of the long Serving Deacon Nyaga Wachira to the position of Appointed Church Elder of the Nairobi Headquarters Church at Eastleigh Section III. He will work closely with the Pastors and Deacons to serve the increasing congregation of believers at the headquarters.

Elder Nyaga was born in 1960 and joined Church of God Seventh Day in 1976 at Elementaita in Nakuru County. He moved to Nairobi in 1982 and was anointed Deacon in 1989 and has served faithfully in that position until his new appointment. He has also served with dedication as the Chairman of the Development Committee to date. He married in 1989 and is blessed with six Children.

Humbly accepting the appointment, Elder Nyaga remarked that he was ready to face the work ahead and to continue being a faithful servant.
