All the churches in Nairobi region had gathered in Eastleigh section 3 for the inter-fellowship
The Sabbath of 28th February 2015 was an inter-fellowship at Eastleigh section 3 for Nairobi region and indeed it was a success in every way. It was a day to officially welcome back and our Missionaries sent to Malawi and celebrate the success of their mission.
They jetted into the country on Thursday 26th February 2015. The team comprised of 5 missionaries led by the General Overseer, Pastor K. Karanja. The other four were Elder Gitari, Evangelist Kimani, Mrs. Eudias Kuria (Pastor Karanja's wife) and Mrs. Gitehi.
Brethren from Nairobi region who had gathered here were in a upbeat mood throughout the service, and much grateful to ELOHIM for the successful mission in Malawi. The church building was already full to capacity by 8:30 am and the meeting was opened through a prayer led by Pastor Mugoya. The praise team then led the crowd in a momentous and an ecstatic praise session. Prayers were then offered for the sick and those who required special prayers.
Several choirs including the marvelous Nairobi Church choir and the glorious Parapandas gave an elated performance followed by the Bible lesson led by Pastor KT. By 11.00 am, the stage was set aside for the team that had gone to Malawi. There was great excitement from the members as they keenly listened to the captivating narration of the whole event from the group. They joyfully shared the miraculous experiences in their mission. Pastor KT then read the written report, which had been compiled by Mrs. Gitehi. Report for Malawi mission had been documented into three formats; there was the written report, a pictorial presentation as well as a video file.
The media committee had also gone an extra mile to crown the day with glory. This committee had arranged for live streaming by installing four 60-inch LED screens to project the indoor service. The mega screens were installed in strategic positions to ensure that no one missed anything that was happening inside the church. It was a very timely attempt because the church was full to capacity and it meant that even those people who did not get a space inside the church could follow the proceedings while seated outside under the shade.
After Pastor KT read the written report, Evangelist Kimani was called upon to take people through the pictorial as well as video presentation. It is usually said that a picture tells 1000 words and therefore all eyes were glued to the screens as the pictures and video were skilfully played and projected by the technicians. He explained how events unfolded since they left Nairobi, their experiences and challenges during the mission until their return back to the country as recorded in the pictures and video. By the time the 3 week mission was concluded, many people had accepted the true gospel from Jerusalem, and 12 of them were baptized. 2 Pastors were also ordained.
By 2:30 pm, the afternoon session had started, opened with a prayer followed by Songs of Praises. The media team took over the stage to launch the new face of our church website led by Bro Mutunga who is in charge of the website design. The congregation was encouraged to continue spreading the gospel even through the internet platform. By logging onto www.cogmers.or.ke a person can access our church website. Likewise, the official Facebook page for the Church of God 7th Day in Kenya is www.facebook.com/cogmers or COGMERs Messianic Congregation.
Each of the 5 Kenyan missionaries was issued with a Certificate of Appreciation for the commendable work they did in Malawi. May ELOHIM bless the work of their hands. Overseer Karanja taught about the call to spread the word, to evangelize & remain steadfast in faith & righteousness. In his report, he emphasized the need to support this new body of Messiah in Malawi by way of prayers & resources, as they need to be brought up to be able to stand on their own. He offered the final prayers and by 5.00pm the service was over.
